MiddleManR3ek Finesses A Lush & Serene Beat In “Power”

Bathed in crimson and azure light, Richmond rapper MiddleManR3ek is smooth and composed in his latest video for his 2022 single, “Power,” offering a short but fetching visual that enhances the tranquil sounds and ardent words.

Using the instrumental from “Back Of The Back” from Terrence NoRocsi’s 2022 single, “Power” finds MiddleManR3ek flowing through a twinkling soundscape with his wheeling bars. His tone is much more relaxed and direct than Terrence NoRocsi’s grimy flow, letting his words effortlessly ride the wave of the plush ambiance underneath.

“Power” is the title track to MiddleManR3ek’s 2022 two-song EP, one of three short collections released by the rapper along with Got A Fever and After Dark, not to mention the standalone singles “Backstreet” and “Greed Island.” So far in 2023, the local MC has released “Remove Distractions” and “East Coast,” both continuing to showcase his rolling lyrical style and pointing to bigger and bolder steps to come this year.
