RugerNell Trades A Romantic Flame For Creative Spark On “Lost Letter”

 In News

Redolent in inflection and tone, “Lost Letter” by RugerNell is an earnest dissection of a breakup that ultimately leads to blossoming inspiration. It’s a bittersweet reality the local MC finds himself in, as the smooth instrumental points to yearning and pining while the incisive observations makes way for emphatic lyiricism. Paired with a video that showcases this budding enthusiam and sore loss, it all makes for a nuanced musical package that captures the feeling of finding confidence and insight in the wake of anguish and melancholy.

Directed by WTO Sco and edited by Rick Blair, the video finds RugerNell deep in thought while abandoned in an intimate room adorned with romantic decorations for a special someone. That special someone clearly left him high and dry as the video’s open relays, but instead of wallowing, RugerNell pulls out a pen and a pad, jotting down notes while looking back on where things went wrong. Here, RugerNell is honest and perceptive, wishing he had listened to those around him while also acknowleding the freedom that’s right in front of him now.

“Lost Letter” is one of five singles from RugerNell this year so far, alongside “3rd Flow Shit,” “Magic City Dreams,” “My Section,” and the most recent release, “Punch In Flow.” All of those were released in just the first three months of the year so it looks like we’re due for another creative explosion later this year, just hopefully not one burst that’s driven by an inopportune breakup again.
